Rakkaat hirvikoirien yst\u00e4v\u00e4t!<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Vuonna 1979 min\u00e4 ja mieheni, Simon, hankimme ensimm\u00e4isen irlanninsusikoiramme, ja kuten usemmille k\u00e4y, toinen irlanninsusikoira tuli vuoden sis\u00e4ll\u00e4. H\u00e4n, Bellcane Amos van Ithili\u00ebn oli Amos van de Ruempolin poika, ja oli l\u00e4hes 11 vuotias menehtyess\u00e4\u00e4n.
\nSuurin osa susikoiristamme oli per\u00e4isin Pim ja Irmgard de Haanin \u201dRuempol\u201d kennelist\u00e4. K\u00e4ytin n\u00e4yttelyiss\u00e4 vain osaa niist\u00e4. Ensimm\u00e4isten vuosien aikana kun omistimme irlanninsusikoiria, tutustuimme skotlanninhirvikoiriin, ja rakastuimme niihin.<\/p>\n

Vuonna 1984 kaksi hirvikoirapentua liittyiv\u00e4t joukkoomme, veljekset Argyll Bryan ja Aragorn Market Gardenista. Argyll menestyi melko hyvin n\u00e4yttelykeh\u00e4ss\u00e4 (h\u00e4n oli ensimm\u00e4inen Maailman Voittajani 1991!) ja k\u00e4ytimme h\u00e4nt\u00e4 uroksena yhden pentueen tuottamiseksi, josta meille tuli Lousy Lennin vom Welzerberg. Lennon oli kohtalaisen menestyv\u00e4 ja siit\u00e4 tuli my\u00f6s Maailman Voittaja 1994.<\/p>\n

Aloitimme my\u00f6s maastojuoksuharrastuksen koiriemme kanssa, ja nyt olemme t\u00e4h\u00e4n harrastukseen koukussa. Simon valmistui tuomariksi ja h\u00e4nt\u00e4 kysyt\u00e4\u00e4n usein suunnittelemaan ratoja ja vet\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n viehett\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Meill\u00e4 on my\u00f6s yst\u00e4v\u00e4piiri jolle j\u00e4rjest\u00e4mme kahdesti vuodessa maastojuoksutapahtuman. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tapahtumassa meill\u00e4 on maasto kuudelle afgaanille ja muille roduille. Ihanaa katsottavaa!<\/p>\n

Maastojuoksussa meill\u00e4 on ollut joitakin hyvi\u00e4 skotteja, joiden kanssa olemme matkustaneet ymp\u00e4ri Eurooppaa. Caintha O\u2019Cockaigne oli yksi niist\u00e4 ja se tuli kahdesti toiseksi Euroopan Maastojuoksukisoissa, viime kerralla Mustialassa vuonna 2006!<\/p>\n

T\u00e4h\u00e4n menness\u00e4 olen kasvattanut vain nelj\u00e4 skotlanninhirvikoirapentuetta kennelnimell\u00e4 O\u2019Cockaigne<\/a>, erilaisten syiden vuoksi. Viimeisin pentueeni syntyi joulukuussa 2007 Cute Coney O\u2019Cockaignelle (Maailman Voittaja 2006) ja Pyefleet Percylle. Vain viisi yhdest\u00e4toista k\u00e4vi n\u00e4yttelyiss\u00e4, mutta niist\u00e4 kaikista tuli voittajia.
\nCscarf O\u2019Cockaigne oli Cruftsin voittaja 2012 ja Englannin Valio, h\u00e4nen veljens\u00e4 Calhoun ker\u00e4si 29 titteli\u00e4 (joista viisi oli isoja maastojuoksu titteleit\u00e4 ja yksi Maailman Voittaja -12), ja siskonsa Cheytah ker\u00e4si 17 titteli\u00e4 (my\u00f6s maastoista).<\/p>\n

Olemme omistaneet useita vuosia 6-7 skottia, on meill\u00e4 t\u00e4ll\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4 niit\u00e4 vain kolme; Nimloth Brandir, 4 vuotias ja kaksi h\u00e4nen 15 kuukautista pentuaan. Niiden \u00e4iti on Bibelot van de Meirse Weiden joka polveutuu Clarence O\u2019Cockaignesta, joten olen saanut jotain takaisin omasta linjastani. Brandir ei pid\u00e4 maastojuoksusta, mutta olen onnekas h\u00e4nen j\u00e4lkel\u00e4istens\u00e4 suhteen, sill\u00e4 he ovat hyvin lupaavia. Ehk\u00e4p\u00e4 tulet tapaamaan heit\u00e4 jossakin n\u00e4yttelyss\u00e4 tai maastojuoksukilpailussa.<\/p>\n

Toivon kasvattavani seuraavan pentueeni Cytaughilla, kun sill\u00e4 on riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti ik\u00e4\u00e4, jolloin talo t\u00e4yttyisi taas muutamasta skotista.<\/p>\n

Valmistuin skotlanninhirvikoira tuomariksi vuonna 1999. Vuodesta 2008 olen arvostellut kaikkia vinttikoiria, ja pari vuotta sitten sain arvostelu oikeudet my\u00f6s faaraokoirille, cirneco dell\u2019etnoille, podengoille ja podencoille.<\/p>\n

Olen ollut arvostelemassa koiria Englannissa, Ruotsissa, Tanskassa, Saksassa, Belgiassa ja tietenkin Alankomaissa. Se ei ole kovin paljon, sill\u00e4 olen hyvin tarkka m\u00e4\u00e4ritelmiss\u00e4, mutta rakastan tuomarointia ja yrit\u00e4n tehd\u00e4 p\u00e4iv\u00e4st\u00e4 iloisen kaikille.<\/p>\n

Dear Deerhound lovers!<\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/span>In 1979 we, my husband Simon and I, got our first Irish Wolfhound and like most people do, the second came within a year. He, Bellcane Amos van Ithili\u00ebn, was a son of Amos van de Ruempol and he was nearly 11 years old when he died. Most of our Wolfhounds came from Pim and Irmgard de Haan, the owners of the \u2018Ruempol\u2019 kennel. I only showed some of them. During the first years we owned Wolfhounds, we were introduced to the Deerhound and we fell in love with them.<\/p>\n

In 1984 two Deerhound puppies joined the gang , two brothers, Argyll Bryan and Aragorn from the Market Garden. Argyll was quite successful in the showring (he was my first World Champion in 1991!) and produced one litter of which Lousy Lennon vom Welzerberg came to live with us. Lennon was fairly successful and became also World Champion in 1994. We also started to do lure-coursing with our hounds and now we are addicted to that sport. Simon became judge and is often asked to lay out the course and to operate the lure. We also have a circle of friends for which we organize a nice lure coursing event twice a year. At this event we do have courses with 6 Afghans or multiple breed courses. Lovely to see! We had some very good coursing Deerhounds with which we travelled all around Europe. Caintha O\u2019Cockaigne was one of them and she became twice second at the European Coursing Championship, last time in Mustiala in 2006!<\/p>\n

Up till now I have bred only four Deerhound litters with the O\u2019Cockaigne<\/a> affix because of all kind of circumstances. My last litter was born December 2007 out of Cute Coney O\u2019Cockaigne (World Champion 2006) and Pyefleet Percy. Only five of the eleven were shown but they became champions with Cscarf O\u2019Cockaigne being Crufts winner 2012 and English Champion, his brother Calhoun collected 29 titles (including five big coursing titles and World Champion \u201912) and his sister Cheytah got 17 titles (also coursing).<\/p>\n

After having 6 or 7 Deerhounds for years, at this moment we only have three; Nimloth Brandir, 4 years old and two of his puppies, 15 months young. Their mother is Bibelot van de Meirse Weiden and she is out of Clarence O\u2019Cockaigne so I got something from my blood back. Brandir doesn\u2019t like lure-coursing but I am lucky with his offspring, they are very promising. Maybe you will meet them somewhere in the showring or on the coursingfield!<\/p>\n

I hope to breed my next litter with the little girl, Cytaugh, when she is old enough, so the house will be filled again with some more Deerhounds.<\/p>\n

I got my judging license for the Deerhound in 1999. Since 2008 I have the whole sighthound group and since two years also the Pharaoh Hound, Cirneco Dell\u2019Etna, Podengo\u2019s and Podenco\u2019s. I have been judging in England, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands of course. Not much because I am quite stringent with the qualifications but I love to judge and always try to make it a happy day for everybody.<\/p>\n
