En sentään ihan ole kasvanut pentulaatikossa, mutta olen pienestä pitäen ollut kiinnostunut koirista. Meillä oli kotona pitkäkarvainen collie. Ensimmäinen oma koirani oli musta labradorinnoutaja, jonka myötä alkoi kiinnostukseni koiranäyttelyihin sekä jalostukseen. Minulla olikin yksi labradoripentue vuonna 1982. Näin skotlanninhirvikoiran ensimmäistä kertaa joskus 70-luvun puolivälissä ja tiesin heti, että jonain päivänä minulla tulisi olemaan sellainen.

Aikaa kului aina kevääseen 1995, jolloin oli vihdoin aika tuoda kotiin ensimmäinen hirvikoirani, Ch Chic Aristocrat´s Fleetwood Grey. Tajusin nopeasti, että vain yksi ei riitä, joten myös pentuesisar Ch. Chic Aristocrat muutti meille. Tästä alkoi rakkauteni skotteja kohtaan. Nyt minulla on kotona 7 skotlanninhirvikoiraa ja joukko whippetejä. Olen tuonut koiria Norjasta, Tanskasta, Suomesta ja Iso-Britanniasta. Tähän päivään mennessä minulla on ollut 8 pentuetta.

Koko sen ajan, kun minulla on ollut skotteja, olen ollut aktiivinen Ruotsin skotlanninhirvikoirayhdistyksessä, viime vuosina puheenjohtajana. Olen myös arvostellut kaikkien rotujen Open Show -näyttelyissä Ruotsissa. Kohokohta oli, kun sain mahdollisuuden arvostella Whippet Clubin Open Shown 2018. Nyt odotan innolla uutta koiraelämäni kohokohtaa, Suomen Skotlanninhirvikoirakerhon Club Shown tuomarointia.

I didn’t grow up in a puppy box, but I have from early age had a great interest in dogs.

We had a Rough Collie at home. My first own dog was a black Labrador Retriever, with her started my interest in dog shows and breeding, have one litter in -82. In the mid 70´s I saw my first deerhound and I knew one day I will have one of them.

In the spring of -95 it was finally time to bring home my first deerhound, Ch Chic Aristocrat´s Fleetwood Grey, I quickly realized that only one deerhound was not enough, so litter sister Ch. Chic Aristocrat´s moved home to us. This was the start of my love for the Deerhounds.

Today I have 7 Deerhound´s and a bunch of whippets at home. I have imported dogs from Norway, Denmark, Finland and UK. Until today there have been 8 litters of puppies.

Has since the start my life with deerhounds I have been active on the board of The Swedish Deerhound Club, the last few years as chairman. Has judged all breeds open shows in Sweden. The highlight was when I got the opportunity to judge The Whippet Club´s open show 2018. Now I am looking forward to another highlight in my dog life, judging The Finnish Deerhound Club open show.
